BOTH BANDS WILL BE INDOORS AT THE TENT AT BUSHYS TONIGHT

TIMES AS CLOSE TO-

MALDUNE 7.30-9.30PM

FREE RADICLES   10-11.55PM

Well we started off last week so well and we kind of knew it was coming

but hopefully this storm will blow through and leave us all in peace to

enjoy the remainder of the weeks festivities.

Thanks to Voodoo Bandits and Symbollix for performing inside the tent

and also to Ian Thompson for his services at the Bay.

We are still deliberating with current conditions at the tent and will amend

our programme accordingly but suffice to say 2 more great bands return to

the CAROLE NASH STAGE

Early Slot 7.30-9.30pm

Maldune are a revered Manx band with a fiercely loyal fanbase.

Consisting of Gary Smith – Guitar/Vocals,Steve Nash – Bass/Vocal,

Denzil Smith – Drums/Percussion and Chris Honour – Guitar/Vocals

Maldune formed back in the days of 1994 when Green Day released “Dookie” and Oasis released “Definitely Maybe”!!

3 School friends embarked on a musical journey. Regular gigs on the Isle of Man, a couple of mini UK tours and

appearances at the Cavern and the Zanzibar in Liverpool were all part of the process.

Maldune have released 5 studio albums to date:

Brand New

Energise

Hallucinated Oscillation

Hated Islanders

Maldune

After 16 years together it was decided to take a break from the gigging scene whist the band members pursued other

projects but you can’t keep a good band down, the odd gig kept happening and an addition to the band in Chris Honour

enabled Maldune to expand their sound and give a heavier edge to an already polished sound.

Maldune are currently working on some new tracks with a view to releasing some new material in the future although

there’s no real time frame it’s good that new songs are being created.

The Dune Army still follow the band in its numbers which shows the fan base that still exists on the Island and further afield.

Outdoors or not they will win you over!

Late Slot 10-11.55pm

Made up primarily of well-known local musician and song-writer

Nigel Williams,he has intuitive backing from son Sol Williams on

lead guitar and with Danny Kneale on all percussion they now feature

bass whore to the masses Steve Rowe. Occasional backing from Skankers frontman and virtuoso Andy “Marshy” Marshall

creates one of the tightest local bands.Expect classics from Dire Straights,The Beatles (in abundance and sincere in replication)

to include a smattering of self penned tunes and you’ve got yourself a cracking night’s entertainment!

A harder working musician you won’t find and his passion for performance at a top level will endear you.

Expect him to be playing at a other venues near you including his regular slots all year round residency at Star Wars!

Down at our rather weather-weary Colas Beach Stage in Port Erin

we have already taken the decision to move indoors and thus the plan is:

VOODOO BANDITS who managed to get most of their set in

at the tent albeit indoors and not without some backline issues

will be performing tonight in the Restaurant side of the Bay,

Port Erin. Expected time kicking off will be around 9.45pm

through to 11.45pm. These guys are fresh, tight and have a

scutch of great original songs especially for you.

Expect to hear an awful lot more from these guys in the future

but catch them early!

Thanks to all our visitors for supporting us through thick and thin

and particularly with today’s headline feature in the Manx Examiner

it’s hard not to think what the future holds for us too!

In the Main Tent

5.30-6.30pm

The Tides

Headed up by Kaysee Craine on lead vocals along with Danny Foulis ,The Tides are a

wonderful local songwriting duo.  Heartwrenching vocals coupled with stirring

plain old-fashioned lyrics, their songwriting is a credit and reflection of how good

the local music scene is.They just fancied popping down to knock a few tunes out!

Subject to weather we then run out to the

Carole Nash Main Stage

Early Slot 7.30-9.30pm

A pretty new crowd on the scene, we welcome the Voodoo Bandits.

They are an alternative rock 5 piece also from
the Isle of Man. They started writing music in August 2015,
and 3 singers later they’ve just recently released
a single with a music video.
They’ve drawn influence from bands like Foals, Bloc Party,
Franz Ferdinand, Peace, and the Arctic Monkeys
with quite a varied style through the songs they have written.
They have a few nearly complete songs under their belt
and hope to release an EP sometime soon.
Their single ‘Blind’ has been played on alocal radio station
and led us to a 1st in local battle of the bands.
They’ve gigged all over the island in pubs and various charity
events, once packed a pub so full they had to stop because it caused a fire
hazard!
They also came first in a competition for a slot at Deep South Music Festival, where they performed a setlist of covers
and original songs. They asked some friends what they thought of the track and received great feedback, including that
we had captured the style of our influences but managed to keep their own sound.
